BIGS JOINS BEN RHODES AND THE FANS AT KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY
It was a great weekend of racing action at Kentucky Speedway on Friday and Saturday, September 25th and 26th, and BIGS was a part of it, thanks to 18-year-old NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Ben Rhodes. This is how it all went down.
A few weeks back, one of our BIGS associates noticed a bag of seeds in the background of a video Ben did preparing for the race weekend. We reached out to Ben, and sent him some sample bags for him and his No. 88 Alpha Energy Solutions / JR Motorsports team as well as some sample bags for the fans during his race weekend at the track.
Ben and his sponsors allowed us to have a presence at his show car, and it was a hit! At the end of the weekend, there wasn’t a single sample bag left anywhere at Kentucky Speedway!
We were surprised with a video at the track from Ben, where he announced if he finished in the top 10 in the NASCAR XFINITY Series race Saturday at the track, he would donate $1000 to our Buy a Bag, Help Give a Bag to America’s Bold Troops campaign. We already had a reason to cheer for Ben, but when the green flag dropped, we all were cheering loudly for him. Unfortunately, he was collected in a wreck early on, but he never gave up, racing from the back to within the top 10 a few times before the damage from earlier in the race eventually sidelined his car.
After the race, we received this message from Ben:
“Thank you for providing seeds to my team and myself as well as the fans during the weekend. Everyone enjoyed the seeds and we had a blast having you all at the track with us in our show car and merchandise tent.
“Even though I didn’t finish in the top 10, I am going to still donate $1000 to your Buy a Bag, Help Give a Bag program. I am a big supporter of the U.S. Military, and I think what you all at BIGS are doing is great! Thank you for supporting the troops!”
Thanks Ben! We appreciate your support for the U.S. Military as well!
